I had to loosen the torsion bars for the tension on the lower control arm to give so it would roll up for the upper ball joint & upper control arm to meet. Feb 15, 2012 · The new keys dont relocate the end of the torsion bar they just reindex the end of the torsion bar, this means that when the aftermarket keys are at their lowest setting the torsion bars will be twisted the same amount as if your factory keys were somewhere in the middle or a higher setting depending on the amount of change in the indexing.
OK! New question. I removed the anchor on the LCA and got the torsion bar separated from the front of the truck. Can I reindex here by rotating the anchor or should I (read: is it even possible to) reindex back at the crossmember somehow? I'm not sure exactly how I would do that and it seems easier to do it by rotating the anchor at the LCA.
